I like that this covers my face. I might have a fat head but this gaiter neck feels a bit tight. As for preventing airborne diseases, I am not entirely sure how much more or less effective this is compared to a medical/surgical/ or construction mask. My gut feeling is that it is less effective in both preventing viral intake and preventing viral transmission. The surface area around the mouth and nose is less than a typical mask, since this is so tight on my face, so there is more pressure concentrated in a small space. I am no physicist, but if you use Bernoulli's fluid dynamics principle, then there would be more velocity in the air streams exiting your nose and mouth due to the smaller area which the air exists from (touching the neck gaiter), compared to a larger dust mask or surgical mask (where there is a much larger cavity around your nose and mouth). Any thoughts on this? Comment or reply please. This seems like it world work fine but unfortunately i have a big head so its super tight. I probably wont use it but i think it would be good for some people with smaller heads lol. This is worn when I work outside at the golf course greeting people. I am unhappy with its function as it does not stay up properly. It is constantly slipping off my mouth and nose. Its being utilized as a mask due to the covid scare and it really isn't too good for that purpose. Plus since I am in Arizona, warmth is not a necessity, but it is uncomfortable just hanging around my neck.I not only enjoy wearing these, Im planning on getting more and have passed the link along to my friends too!! Wearing glasses, its hard to find face covers in the situation we are in that are not only functional but comfortable! Im honestly going to keep on using them even after its over (hopefully soon) since Colorado has v cold weather ^^ Thank you so much!!It will work great for a headband but not as a gaiter for me. My head is very small so unless I stuck out my chin in a strange angle, it would fall strait down. I think it would work for most people & it is cute.My fiance and I both have large heads (hat size 7.25-7.5) and these are huge on us! The material seems nice and I think it will be easy to take them in an inch or two on the back seam, but if you want something you can wear immediately this is not the product for you.I searched all the reviews to find a balaclava/gaitor that was decent quality, not hot and made in the USA.The quality is ok, not great. I guess you get what you pay for. However, the size is enormous and there is very little stretch in the fabric.Kicker is that to return, you have to pay for shipping....TO CHINA!I use this product as a face covering when I am in public as protection from COVID-19. While it isn't thick as prescribed for high risk areas, I believe its suitable when social distancing as an added layer of protection. It's not a replacement for an N95 mask. It's very breathable, comfortable and has a band that keeps it on your face.
